Request for CDRC Applications 2019 – Centre Professionnel de Médiation

As per tradition, CPM-USJ has been participating for the past three years in the IBA-VIAC Negotiation and Mediation Competition which takes place in Vienna, Austria.

Mediation and Negotiation are the processes of choice to allow parties to keep full control and decisive power over their international business disputes. Mediation and Negotiation skills will be core competencies of the next generation of managers and lawyers.

The Consensual Dispute Resolution Competition (CDRC) Vienna is a platform to build skills, experience and brilliance in this field and to exchange, learn and grow with the stars of the world of Consensual Dispute Resolution, where participants act as mediators and as negotiators.

33 teams from all over the world participate in this competition every year, mediating a problem based on the Willem C Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Problem.

After having made first place in the first edition of the competition, second place in its second edition, as a negotiator team, CPM is looking to form both a negotiator team and a mediator team to participate in the 5th edition of the IBA-VIAC Competition which will take place from 6 to 10 July 2019.

It is a great multicultural opportunity to learn and network.

All those interested in participating as either negotiators or mediators should send:

  1. Their CV (with picture)
  2. A cover letter in English of no more than 150 words
  3. Proof of proficiency in the English language (if available).

Interviews will be held on Monday 28 January at 6 p.m. at the Centre Professionnel de Mediation – Campus des sciences sociales.

Please note that in order to be eligible, applicants should either be:

  1. Registered as full-time or part-time students in the academic year of 2018/2019,


  1. Have completed their undergraduate studies no longer than 2 years ago and have gained work experience (e.g. practiced law or been in business) of no more than 1 year since their graduation.
